The Ambiance
Casual yet classy, Mocca was one of the earliest cafes in the city to start serving on their rooftop before the trend really took off and it remains one of the best rooftop places to hang out at in Lahore.
A very soothing minimalist Scandinavian style, cosy nooks and plenty of foliage make this rooftop one of the prettiest in the city, especially in spring when vibrant seasonal flowers dot the space in places.
The rooftop remains a popular spot for the late night crowd to hang out at as the area below buzzes with the traffic and patrons of the many trendy eateries in this location.
The Food
Meeting at Mocca means flexibility as you have the option of bringing your sweetie here on a breakfast date, for a meal or just for coffee and dessert.
The menu underwent a revamp some years ago and the fresh clean flavours at Mocca mean that the ingredients used shine without shrouding everything in strong spices or heavy sauces.
If you are a fan of stronger flavours, ask your server to guide you to the more spicier items on the menu (and request them to make your food even more spicy!).
A decent all day breakfast menu includes omelettes (the Spicy Huevos Rancheros is a favourite), a brunch platter with scrambled eggs and waffles.
Mocca does killer salads such as the classic Greek Salad and quite possibly, the best paninis in Lahore like the Grilled Vegetable Panini and the Chicken Jalapeño Panini.
This cosy cafe has an extensive range of coffees and artisan teas that pair well with its signature macarons and some unusual but delicious desserts that you probably won’t find anywhere else in the city such as their butter pies.
The Prices
Mocca is an upscale cafe so prices are a bit higher than say, a chain coffee shop.
Timings
Mocca opens at 8:00 am and the rooftop is open from then until closing time which is around 1:00 am.
Reservations
Rooftop is pretty popular and though it’s possible to get a table most times you walk in, reserve in advance if it’s a special occasion and if you don’t want to settle for sitting inside the cafe.
